Labor Market Requirements Survey on the Need For Food Safety and Quality Specialist/ Managers in the Food Production Industry  

"Labor market research on the need for a food safety and quality specialist/manager in the food industry" was prepared by PMO business consulting, commissioned by the Land O'Lakes Venture 37 project - "Investing in Safe and Quality Livestock (SQIL)" Funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) under the Food for Progress Program. The study was conducted during December 2020 and January 2021. The study included in-depth interviews and focus groups with a survey of organizations operating in the food industry, food safety and quality specialists, representatives of educational institutions, and students of higher education institutions. In addition, secondary information was processed, and students were surveyed through online questionnaires. This paper presents the main findings of the study, which reflects the determinants of the demand of employers in the labor market for food safety and quality specialists, the qualifications required by employers, and By training qualified specialists.
