Georgia Beef Market System Analysis and Mapping
This study was conducted within the framework of the project “Safety and Quality Investments in Livestock (SQIL)”, initiated by Land O’Lakes International Development with the support of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The study analyzed existing beef market value chains in Georgia as to identify areas in which improvements could be made that would strengthen domestic production and improve export potential. PMO conducted qualitative and quantitative research for the project, examining primary producers through to product consumers. Based on the study results recommendations have developed which will serve as a roadmap for developing and implementing need based support programs that will strengthen Georgia's domestic beef market systems.
