Labor Market Research on the necessity of the food safety and quality specialist/managers in the food production industry
As part of the research, in-depth interviews and focus groups were conducted with organizations operating in the food industry, food safety and quality specialists, representatives of educational institutions, and students of higher education institutions. In addition, secondary information was processed, and students were surveyed through online questionnaires. The study revealed the main findings that reflect the factors determining the demand of employers in the labor market for food safety and quality specialists, the gaps between the qualifications required by employers and the skills provided, and opportunities of the education system to bridge the gap between supply and demand in the labor market through the training of qualified food safety specialists.
